Quick Chic

We are just around the corner from Summer! It is still Spring, but we have started to feel the Summer heats creeping in, so what is the perfect fix to beat the high temperatures?

Summer clothes, lots and lots of swimming, fresh fruit, iced tea and lemonade!

I will share one of my little secrets keeping me cool during the hot spells, and that is my faithful Rompers! Who doesn't love these fun and flirty jumpsuits? They're what I call, a quick chic. They don't require much thinking, or matching for that matter, and are awfully flattering on all body types since they come in so many colors, patterns, lengths, and styles. You simply pop one on, accessorize, and you're set and looking great. Let's take a look at a few styles I really like and the different occasions you might be able to wear them in, shall we?

Simple and Casual:

This is a strapless, loop-terry romper in yellow(American Apparel). Great for wearing over swimsuits and the material is wonderful for drying up after you've had your dip. Wonderful fun bright color for summer, you will definitely not be a wilting flower in this little number.

This is a jumper with a cross-front detail in a dark purple(American Apparel). This is another cute example of cute swimwear cover-up. The deep V of this romper gives for a very sexy and youthful appearance. Here it is accessorized with a thin brown leather belt, which accentuates her waist and gives her a curvier presentation. Remember gals the cinched waist is our very good friend.

This next piece is a halter style romper in a lovely evergreen color(again, American Apparel, known for making wonderful basics). I actually own this in heather gray and I love to wear it over my swimsuit. I find it doesn't look too exposed so you can pretty much keep it on without feeling or looking like your in swimwear cover-up. I like to dress this up with big floppy hats and long chained necklaces, a couple of bracelets and rings, some cute sandals. This ,my friends, is what you call a damn good looking beach ensemble. What I like about the gray is that you can pretty much pair it up with any color and it'll be magnificent (style trick)! Since I do wear this over my swimsuits, which in my case, come in a variety of brightly sorted patterns and colors, I opted for choosing something that would match and fit right in with any color combination, and gray seems to be one of those magic colors.

Denim:

Now for the fun. This season expect to see lots and lots of DENIM. Blue hues all across the chart. Dark, faded, acid-washed, you name it. Blue, Blue, and some more Blue.

This is a very cute number in a faded denim wash called the Ever Sequoia Pinstripe Romper from my very favorite,
FreePeople. I think the styling for this is magnificent, I love the playing of colors and textures. The yellow quarter sleeved sweater (the perfect length for this jumper)and the light denim combination gives this look a very fresh and charming feel. It is paired with buckled brown leather boots, cream colored socks that peep through effortlessly, and a light chain giving this look a modern twist.

This next look is brought to us by the fantastic, like mentioned before favorite brand of mine, FreePeople, and is called the Chambray Romper. This is a very simple design, dainty and sweet but the accessorizing is what kicks this ensemble up a notch. It is accessorized by a brown thin braided leather belt tied in an unconventional fashion, which looks modern and flowing. (Remember girls, doing this with belts will only work if the style of the belt is thin.) A light chain with a red pendant and a variation of bangles finish off this breezy look.

Pretty and Delicate:

This is the Seneca Rising Atilla style(FreePeople) romper. The light colors and bow give it a very feminine look and the fun accessories give it a fresh edge.

This is as sweet as they come, I absolutely adore this darling look! This number is from Pins and Needles found at UO. It is a strapless sweetheart skirted romper in a very light floral pattern(I love that you can get away with this length since it is a romper after all, love love love). It is paired with some nude colored strappy wedges and a straw bowler. This look is very pretty and I would definitely wear out on a hot summer day, cute and flirty.

Bold Patterns:

This is a more dressy piece that can be worn for a night out on the town without looking frumpy and rather, fantastic actually. It has a higher cut neckline, a longer length on the short, and is a little more covered up than the previous pieces, which makes it look sophisticated, fun, and classy. The wonderful crisscross black detail, both, serves to accentuate the waist and as a fun break-up of the bold pattern(no belt needed!). I also love love love the great colors on this. They are bright and modern, giving a youthful chic glow to any girl. To match our 'night out' theme, they have paired this little number with sheer black tights, a perfect choice in my book. They are light and tie the look together wonderfully(not to mention the fact little that they offer great support and give great form to legs!). Add fun jewelry, a hot heel, and you've got one good looking ensemble. This was the
Silence&Noise Paisley Print Jumpsuit.

Jot this down ladies: Tribal Prints are hot hot hot this season and add charm to any wardrobe. This is the
Dolce Vita Deena Romper. So cute, I might just have to snatch one for myself. These shoes are absolutely fabulous too.

Vintage Gems:

This is the Pins and Needles Piped Sailor Romper. Such a cute choice, it adds a fun quirk and the shoes/belt really tie this nautical look together. All I would add is a cute satchel and maybe a few bracelts, but this is a wonderful look.
Another fabulous romper, this is one of my favorites, Samantha Pleet's Run Amok. If I could pick the one look that represents summer, it would be this one my friends. The bright beautiful colors scream fun in the sun. This is a magnificent look, the bowler and oxfords are the perfect accessories.

Pretty in Florals:

BB Dakota Hadley Romper

Lucca Couture Halter Woven Romper

Lucca Couture Floral Romper

Lucca Couture Woven Ruffle Romper

I won't go into detail describing each of these because they are all pretty much in the same style range, tiny differentiations such as ruffling, and neckline cut, but overall the same feel. Florals are so fun and girly. I love to dress them up, dress them down, I take them all around town. Love love florals, and these jumpers are absolutely delightful, wouldn't you say? Pair with a fun hat, stack accessories sky high, add a fun satchel/purse, snap on some shades, and hit the sun!

Chic Solids:

Silence&Noise Knot Front Romper
Kimchi Blue Scallop-Edged Romper

These two choices are more sophisticated and bring a nice twist to the otherwise 'typical' dress attire. Who doesn't love the comfort of shorts, especially when they look this good? I love the lavender color and the detailing of the first number, as well as the cut and collar on the next. Both, great great choices.

Classic Black:

Lucca Couture New Safari Romper

Sparkle&Fade One-Shoulder Ruffle Romper

Dolce Vita Sunny Romper

Dolce Vita Hilda Romper

As always, when in doubt, wear black! Black is the most universally flattering color known to woman kind and her wardrobe. All these jumpsuits make for great additions to any wardrobe, they are simple and chic and can be easily dressed up or down. Add more jewelery, take some off, wear some flats, sandals, boots, heels, they can handle it all. Wonderful pieces, I adore them all.
