Let's speak: Scent!

Talking to my grandmother, and other wise elder ladies for that matter, I found that they have each chosen and stuck with a particular fragrance throughout fairly many years and I never thought about what an impact it has made on me. The way as soon as my little nose smells the thick elegant musk of Chanel N.5's, heavy of florals traveling through the air, I can foresee my grandmother walking through the door. It's the way I know what to expect when we share an embrace, it's the comfort in the scent, the memories that flood when I do happen to run into the familiar aroma, and the undeniable fact that this particular scent has become part of my grandmother's overall persona. I have been in search for 'my' particular scent for a while now. I like playing with different kinds of scents, however, and I find myself changing my perfume quite often or having a couple to choose from at all times. I don't think that's the way one goes about having that recognizable undeniable scent though, but I am still young so I have plenty of time to choose. I'm sure I'll settle down with one soon, for now I'll you tell about a couple of my favorites that I seem to rather enjoy and not break out of.

First is Marc Jacobs's
Daisy:

Not only do I love the adorable perfume bottle and presentation, I really like the fact that this perfume is light, fresh, and youthful without being too sexy, heavy, or grown up. It is the perfect day to day fragrance filled with florals and light fruit scents, it is wonderful, however, I know this is no statement making fragrance or very recognizable for that reason.. so let's move on to our next aroma.

Betsey Johnson's Fragrance:

I really love the classy feminine touch of this perfume and it's glamorous eye catching bottle, nothing unexpected of the first fragrance from our dear, Queen of the Quirky, Miss Betsey Johnson. When first sprayed, you can catch a young fruity scent, but once dried it develops into a rich woody aroma; not earthy or heavy at all. It is a luscious modern twist to sophistication. There is no overpowering florals and it not thick whatsoever(no headaches or sneezing here). I love this modern and sexy fragrance, good notes all around for this. This is definitely an attractive scent.

We move on to the last and favorite of my choices, and this is..

Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf:

Where to start with this wonderful gem? Let's see, not only is the presentation terribly eye-catching and unique, the fragrance is absolutely wonderful. The bottle, as you guys may have noticed, resembles a hand grenade, which plays beautifully with the perfume's name FlowerBomb. I find it awfully clever and charming in a quirky and unexpected way. It is not the least bit aggressive, however rough though, it touches perfectly on the softest of pinks and appears very delicate and feminine. Wonderful concept and execution. Unlike you'd expect, this aroma is not an explosion or overpowering, it is actually rather more of a poised, sweet, and very pretty scent that engulfs you and carries you in a very lovely way. It's a delicious blend florals and a sophisticated light musk that brings a soft classy feel to the scent. This is my favorite, my top choice, thus far.

The other great thing about this perfume is that it comes in various different presentations all in the original silhouette, but with minor differentiations in the detailing. This first example, shows a darker shadowing and exquisite prints throughout the case of the bottle, as well as a matching black bottle cap. A darker subtle edge with the same feminine touch, which Viktor and Rolf are well known for.

This next model, is a bit more feminine with a rose colored metallic bow decorating the the bottle very delicately. This is a very graceful and pretty presentation.

These next two are limited edition 'glitter' models, one in a pink colour and the other in black. Both presentations are stunning and definitely attention getters. Wonderful appearance to match a lovely scent. I have great reviews for this fragrance and I don't see myself putting it down anytime soon. I definitely recommend it to any ladies looking to try a new essence.

I leave you with two things. A question, Which is your favorite fragrance?, and a quote from out lovely Coco Chanel.

"A Woman who doesn't wear Perfume has no Future."
-Coco Chanel
